BULK Bulk herbs are the dried herbs themselves. The are generally soaked and then prepared as a tea. Advantages of Bulk: Usually the cheapest price and strongest effects. Can be modified to your specific needs. Good for people who cannot tolerate the binders used in granules or patents due to food sensitivities. Disadvantages of Bulk: Preparation can be time-consuming. GRANULES Granules are precooked herbs in granular form. Just dissolve the granules in hot water and presto -- instant herbal formula. Advantages of Granules: Very convenient and easy to do, still can be tailored to your individual needs. Disadvantages of Granules: May not be appropriate if an individual has sensitivities to the binders used in that particular product. PATENTS Premade formulas in pill form. Advantages of patents: Convenient. Milder effects may be better for more sensitive individuals. Do not have to taste the herbs. Good for long-term herb use. Disadvantages of patents: Effects can be more muted. Cannot be modified for individual needs. |
