Our world is really caught in a web of noise - a dozen different demands for our attention from the boss, family, children as well as invasive noise like advertisements, traffic and technology.
One of the things I have really enjoyed doing this Summer and Fall is going for mindfulness walks. Every day after I drop off my youngest I will walk through the park and the neighborhood for about 15-20 minutes and just notice everything around me.
I have never noticed the change of seasons more than since I have taken up this practice -- and I love it. So often the seasons go by in a flash without me even noticing it. But in that not noticing, I have also missed out on the experience of life!
So mindfulness has also brought to me a joy in the noticing the beautiful moments of life that will never pass this way again. It is this very quality of mindfulness that is so present in qigong - and one of the things I love so much about it. It's a peacefulness of being in the moment - just like being in nature.
Here are a few images I caught on my walk yesterday. They are not pro, but really show how we notice things that we might not have otherwise. Enjoy!
